Brightening facial or skin lightening treatment?
The names sound interchangeable; the treatments are not. One is a facial, the other a skin protocol. Here is each in the clinic’s own words.

The simplest way to tell these two apart is where they work and what they target. Brightening Facials sit in our Facials & Facial Treatments category and focus on the face and complexion (dullness, uneven tone and mild surface pigmentation), often using platforms like HydraFacial or OxyGeneo. Skin Lightening belongs to our Body Treatments menu and is a customized protocol for darkened body areas such as underarms, knees, elbows and the neck, where tone can look uneven for reasons quite different from facial dullness.
Because pigmentation has many causes, the right choice is rarely obvious from a name alone. At a Skinholic consultation we assess your skin in person, review your history and anything you are using or taking, and only then map out which option fits. For stubborn facial pigmentation, related pathways on our menu such as Dermamelan, Cosmelan, Chemical Peels or Pico Laser Rejuvenation may come into the conversation, while body-tone concerns are guided toward our Skin Lightening or Intimate Brightening protocols. Any changing spot or mole is referred to a physician rather than treated cosmetically.
Both treatments reward patience and a plan. Brightening and lightening are gradual, cumulative processes, and results depend on your skin type, the area treated, how many sessions you have and how well the skin is protected afterward with sunscreen and a home routine. That is why our team sets honest expectations up front, explaining what each option can and cannot do, before anything begins, at either our Surrey or Aldergrove clinic in the Fraser Valley.

A Brightening Facial is a facial treatment aimed at the complexion, addressing dullness, uneven tone and mild surface pigmentation on the face. Skin Lightening is a body-treatment protocol customized for darkened areas such as underarms, knees, elbows and the neck, so the choice depends on where your concern is and what is causing it.
That is exactly what a consultation is for, since pigmentation can have many causes and sits at different depths. Our team assesses your skin in person and reviews your history before recommending a facial-focused or body-focused approach, and every plan is built around your skin rather than chosen from a page.
Brightening Facials are designed to support dullness, uneven tone and mild surface pigmentation, and many clients notice a fresher, more even-looking complexion over a series. For more stubborn facial pigmentation, other menu options may be discussed at your consultation to suit your skin type and goals.
At Skinholic, our Skin Lightening protocol is categorized as a body treatment for darkened body areas like underarms, knees, elbows and the neck. Facial tone and complexion concerns are usually addressed through our Facials & Facial Treatments instead, and your consultation confirms the right route.
It varies with your skin type, the area being treated, the concern and how your skin responds, so a set number is not something we quote in advance. Your practitioner outlines a realistic plan and timeline at your free in-person assessment.
Cost depends on the treatment chosen, the area, the number of sessions and how the plan is customized to your skin, so it is confirmed after your assessment rather than listed here. Your first consultation at either our Surrey or Aldergrove clinic is free, with no obligation to book.
