What treatments help with scars?
Surgical scars, injury scars and acne scars are not treated identically. Here are the options on our menu.
Not all scars respond to the same approach, which is why our Surrey team looks at scar type before anything else. Raised or textured scars are often addressed with Scar Relaxation, which uses laser or energy to help soften and flatten the surface and even out scar tone. Indented or acne-related scarring more often calls for collagen-focused options like Microneedling with Exosomes or Skin Resurfacing, where the goal is smoother texture over a series of visits rather than a single dramatic change.
Timing matters as much as technique. Newer scars are still remodelling on their own, so we generally prefer to wait until a scar has fully healed and settled before assessing it, and your practitioner will confirm the right window at your consultation. Many clients also see the most natural improvement when treatments are spaced out over several months, giving the skin time to respond between sessions. Because Surrey and the wider Fraser Valley see plenty of sun in summer, we also talk through daily sun protection, since keeping a healing scar shielded may help it fade more evenly.
A consultation is where the plan actually takes shape. During your free in-person visit at either the Surrey or Aldergrove clinic, we assess the scar, review your skin history and anything you are currently using, and explain honestly what each option can and cannot do. If we notice anything atypical during that assessment, such as a scar that is changing, unusually painful or not healing as expected, we will refer you to a physician rather than proceed.
