Skin Brightening Near Delta: What It Can and Can't Do
Dark spots, sun damage and marks left after breakouts are common reasons people look into skin brightening. This guide explains what professional brightening treatments do and don't do, and how we choose between them at our Surrey clinic, just across Scott Road from North Delta.

Brightening, not whitening
You will still see the phrase "skin whitening" in searches, but it describes the goal poorly. Professional brightening treatments are not designed to change your natural skin tone. They target excess pigment, such as dark spots, sun damage, stubborn brown patches and marks left after breakouts, so that your skin looks more even.
What professional brightening can help with
- Dark spots and sun spots
- Stubborn brown patches, including melasma-type pigmentation
- Marks left after breakouts
- Darker areas on the body, such as the underarms, knees, elbows and neck
- Dullness and uneven tone
The treatments we use
- Brightening facials, a gentle starting point for dullness and mild unevenness.
- Chemical peels, which use controlled exfoliation to lift surface pigment over a series of sessions.
- Cosmelan and Dermamelan, depigmentation treatments for stubborn pigment that pair an in-clinic mask with a homecare routine.
- Pico laser rejuvenation, a laser treatment for pigment and uneven tone.
- Skin lightening, which focuses on darker areas of the body such as the underarms, knees and elbows.
How we choose between them
The choice depends on what is causing the pigment and how deep it sits, your skin tone, and how much downtime suits you. A brightening facial or a light peel may be enough for dullness, while stubborn or deeper pigment may call for Cosmelan, Dermamelan or pico laser. This is worked out at your consultation, not from a list.
What to expect
Pigment usually fades gradually rather than all at once, either over a series of sessions (facials, peels and laser) or over the weeks of a home phase (Cosmelan and Dermamelan). Results vary with the cause of the pigment, your skin type and how well your skin is protected from the sun, and some pigment, melasma-type patches in particular, can return. That is why daily sunscreen and a homecare routine are part of every brightening plan.
Your skin is assessed in person at a free consultation before any treatment is recommended or booked. If a spot looks unusual or has changed, or if darkening on the neck or underarms has appeared recently or feels thick or velvety, we will ask you to see a physician first.

These treatments are designed to address uneven tone, dark spots, sun damage and dullness, either by lifting excess pigment from the upper layers of the skin or by slowing how much pigment the skin produces, depending on the treatment. Over time, skin may look brighter and more even, with results depending on your skin and concerns.
In-clinic brightening at Skinholic uses professional-grade protocols such as brightening facials, chemical peels and depigmentation systems like Dermamelan or Cosmelan, applied and monitored by trained skincare professionals. Each plan is customized after an in-person assessment rather than a one-size-fits-all product off the shelf.
Yes, our Skin Lightening treatment focuses on darkened body areas including underarms, knees, elbows and neck, as well as uneven body tone. The right approach is confirmed during your free consultation, since these areas can respond differently than facial skin.
Brightening treatments can be tailored to a range of skin tones, and suitability is always confirmed at an in-person skin assessment. If you live in Delta or elsewhere south of the Fraser, a practitioner at our Surrey clinic on Scott Road can review your history at a free consultation and recommend a plan that fits your skin.
That varies with the concern, the treatment chosen and how your skin responds, so there is no single number that fits everyone. Your practitioner will outline a suggested series and expected timeline at your consultation.
Cost depends on the specific treatment, the treatment area, the number of sessions and how your plan is customized after a practitioner's assessment. You receive accurate figures at a free consultation at our Surrey clinic, the clinic nearest to Delta.
